In the spring of 2022, Griz Tour Director Stuart Karmatz put out the call to several designers to design and produce several of Griz’s upcoming shows. Grant Kwiecinski aka “Griz” requested that two of those designers, Eric Mahowald and Sooner Routhier join forces and collaborate to create a Crystal Palace for his upcoming stage design.
Erik and Sooner enthusiastically agreed and began the process of ideating a futuristic palace of lighting, video, and special effects. The result created an experience to remember for fans of the multifaceted EDM artist.

How we got there
The team brainstormed solutions to create an electrified castle that could transform into multiple architectural styles via video content, special effects, lighting, and scenic details. Using LED neon tubes, towers were constructed to act as lighting fixtures that masked the edges of large LED video walls.
The main stage was composed of a grand stair with Griz’s performance helm at the focal point. The castle backdrop created the perfect performance palace for Griz and his eclectic performers to entertain audiences across North America.
